Successful training on state-of-the-art evaluation techniques for sensory panels

The Institute of Bioeconomy of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-IBE) offered a training on state-of-the-art evaluation techniques for sensory panels on May 4th and 5th, 2022. The 7 organisations selected for funding within Open Call #4 as well as 3 BreedingValue partners (LUKE, CIV, Sant’Orsola) attended the training.

The participants have learned how to train and select panellists to perform sensory tests, and what options exist for these sensory tests (Descriptive Quantitative Analysis, Temporal dominance of sensation, Time intensity, Sorting…).

As next step, the participants will put the theory into practice and conduct a panel test for sensory evaluation of strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry in their own organisation.
